WHICH EMITTER Power Supply DO I NEED?

TOMAR emitters & power supplies are available in different versions, depending on the emergency vehicle preemption system installed at intersections in the desired area of operation.
If no specific vehicle ID or coding is required then you have the option of going with TOMAR’s 3065, T792HL or 401* version emitters & power supplies.

If your agency does require vehicle identification or coding in order to receive preemption then you would need a specific style in order to receive preemption based on the information below.

  • 3065 Series Emitters can be programmed to send specific TOMAR STROBECOM II™ codes and ID’s required at intersections equipped with TOMAR’s 4000 series equipment.
  • T792HL Series Emitters can be programmed to send specific GTT Opticom** codes and ID’s required at intersections equipped with Opticom series equipment.
  • *The 3065 & T792HL power supplies are backed with a FREE Full 10 Year Warranty.  The 401 power supplies are backed with a FREE 2 Year Warranty.

Compatiable Products

Pair the Emitter Power Supply with Tomar RECT-37-SWP-C lighthead for optimal performance.  Can also be used with an existing strobe. Optional RECT-37-SWP-C along with the RECT-37-VLF (visible light filter) will eliminate all visible light.

How far do your emitters send the signal?

TOMAR emitters are detectable from approximately 2500+/- feet

Do TOMAR emitters come with a warranty?

Yes, our 3065 & T792HL style power supplies are backed by an industry leading 10-year warranty. Our 401 power supplies & strobes are backed by a 2-year warranty

Are these IR emitters?

Yes, our optical emitters send a IR or infrared signal

Do they require programming?

No, our emitters do not require programming in order to operate or be detected at intersections but they can be programmed to send a specific code if that is needed.

What is the VLF?

Our emitters are offered with an optional VLF which is a visible light filter to block any visible light from being seen.

Do you offer a handheld version?

Yes, our T792HLB-20V & 3065B-20V provide a full strength emitter option

Can emitters be mounted behind a windshield or on a vehicles dashboard?

Yes, they can be but most vehicles have an IR style windshield. While IR windshields will assist in reducing the heat inside of a vehicle it will also unfortunately reduce the range that an emitter can send a signal.
