Revolution R37I Series IR Illuminator

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

TOMAR’s Revolution Series of LED Illuminators offer synchronized target-illumination solutions for a wide variety of photo or video capture equipment. Offered in two sizes: 3×7″ or 7×9″, this series was designed and optimized specifically for use in these applications, ranging from Electronic Video Tolling, License Plate Reading (LPR), and Security Video Capture.

As part of the TOMAR Revolution Series, Illuminators have a standard IP69K+ water intrusion rating thanks to TOMAR's patented T-Seal™ technology and TOMAR’s Clear Vision Optics™. A standard 5-Year Warranty accompanies all TOMAR Revolution Illuminators.

SYNCHRONIZED OPERATION

Revolution Illuminators can be triggered to flash at the proper time for video capture, at rates of up to 120Hz, by an optically-isolated 5-24VDC trigger pulse, or via an RS-485 command allowing for hardware or software triggering. When triggered, all LEDs in the illuminator flash together. Tightly controlled trigger delays insure LED flashes occur at consistent times.

The included RS-485 interface allows programming of the following parameters:

• Illuminator address – allows multiple Revolution Illuminators on one RS-485 interface
• LED Drive Current (Intensity) – from 0-100% of full in 255 steps
• Light Pulse Duration – from 100-500uS in 200 steps

OPTIMIZED PERFORMANCE

The R37I Revolution Illuminator comprises two sets of LEDs, eight in one set, sixteen in the next, each of which can be a different color or wavelength allowing mixing of visible and non-visible light for the best video capture. Each of the two LED sets has an individual intensity setting so the illuminator output can be adjusted based on exposure needs or ambient light availability. TOMAR Clear Vision Optics, along with a wide range of diffuser selections, makes the R37I easily adaptable to a specific application whether mounted overhead on a gantry, by the side of the road on a pedestal, or under the eaves of a building.
