4090 Series 2 Head, 1 Channel Detector w/ Integrated Confirmation™ – TOMAR Traffic

4090 Series 2 Head, 1 Channel Detector w/ Integrated Confirmation™ Lights

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

TOMAR’s 4090 Series Optical Preemption Detectors with w/ Integrated Confirmation™ Lights sense the optical pulses emitted by properly equipped emergency or transit vehicles.

Mounted to observe the approaches of an intersection, 4090 Detectors are used with TOMAR 4000 Series Optical Signal Processors to inform the traffic control system of the presence of designated vehicles.

EVP and TSP with Integrated Confirmation™

TOMAR's Integrated Confirmation™ (IC) is an industry first, setting a new standard for reliable visual confirmation to further increase safety, lower response times and streamline installations.  A high-power white or blue LED attached to the optical detector receives power via the standard TOMAR M913 EVP detector cable and TOMAR Optical Signal Processor (OSP). This means no additional cable pulls through congested conduits, use of load switches or added power supplies are needed to provide confirmation lights & visual feedback.  TOMAR’s STROBECOM II™ IC traffic signal priority system is the only preemption option providing real, closed-loop, visual feedback to first responders.

  • Provides real-time visual feedback to emergency and transit vehicle operators without the need to take their eyes off the  roadway by (programmable) flashing or steady-burn LEDs - This could help reduce collisions between emergency vehicles when two are approaching the same intersection at the same time
  • Provides visual notification to public motorists regarding a preemption event happening

    Self Test Detector

The 4090-x-ST detectors incorporate a self-test feature for true closed loop detector and wiring welfare monitoring. Each 4090-X-ST detector includes a small infrared LED which periodically injects a special test signal into the detectors photo sensor. The 4140 Series OSPs receive the special test signal and therefore know that the detector is fully functional. Should a detector fail self-test a front panel indication and an entry in the OSP log indicate the problem.

Using 4090 Series detectors and STROBECOM II throughout your traffic control system reduces emergency response time, allows emergency vehicles to travel with greater safety, and improves transit vehicles timeliness.

    FAQ's

How far do your emitters send the signal?

TOMAR emitters are detectable from approximately 2500+/- feet

Do TOMAR emitters come with a warranty?

Yes, our 3065 & T792HL style power supplies are backed by an industry leading 10-year warranty. Our 401 power supplies & strobes are backed by a 2-year warranty

    Are these IR emitters?

Yes, our optical emitters send a IR or infrared signal

    Do they require programming?

No, our emitters do not require programming in order to operate or be detected at intersections but they can be programmed to send a specific code if that is needed.

    What is the VLF?

Our emitters are offered with an optional VLF which is a visible light filter to block any visible light from being seen.

Do you offer a handheld version?

Yes, our T792HLB-20V & 3065B-20V provide a full strength emitter option

Can emitters be mounted behind a windshield or on a vehicles dashboard?

Yes, they can be but most vehicles have an IR style windshield. While IR windshields will assist in reducing the heat inside of a vehicle it will also unfortunately reduce the range that an emitter can send a signal.

What is the Envelope of Safety®?
