PRODUCT OVERVIEW

TOMAR’s Add-On Emitter Kit is designed to externally install a full-range strobe infrared emitter capable of 2,500+ feet distance of signal onto an existing light bar.

3065 Series Emitters Overview

The model 3065 family of TOMAR STROBECOM II preemption emitters are used on authorized vehicles to activate TOMAR STROBECOM II 2000, 3000, & 4000 Series products and any other non-coded optical preemption and priority control systems. The 3065-LOPRO-R is an emitter with a remote power supply which can operate on either 12 or 24 VDC and is designed for installation where available lighthead space is limited. Configured via optional software, the 3065-LOPRO-R can emit any of 65,000 vehicle ID’s of either Emergency Band (high) or Transit Band (low) priorities. The 3065-LOPRO-R is equipped with continuous self-diagnostics with visual feedback and a highly adaptable automatic disable system to prevent intersection lockup. An optional visible light filter can be added to make emitter operation invisible on undercover, transit, or maintenance vehicles.

The 3065 Series emitters include an SAE J1708/J1587 interface that can be used for on/off control, disable override, and code programming from an onboard vehicle computer.

KEY FEATURES

  • The 3065-LOPRO-R can be programmed to emit any TOMAR code on either emergency band or transit band using the 3065-PROGCAB cable and software.
  • An optional visible light filter can be added to make emitter operation invisible.
  • STROBECOM II Power Supplies fall under our industry-leading 10-Year STROBECOM II Warranty.

Mounting Bracket Options

The powder-coated steel emitter mounting brackets allow you to install TOMAR’s Low Profile Remote (LOPRO-R) Strobe Infrared Emitters to an existing lightbar, including the following listed competitor lightbars.

Mounting Bracket Light bar Compatibility

Note: Clearance of at least 2.1 inches is required between bottom of lightbar and vehicle roof where emitter is to be located.

  • Whelen Bracket: Allows the TOMAR LOPRO-R Emitter to be mounted anywhere along the mounting-track on the bottom side of the light bar.  Compatible with:
    • Whelen Liberty II
    • Whelen Freedom IV**
    • Any others with a lower mounting-track distance of 4 3/4″ apart and groove depth of 3/8″
  • Federal Signal Bracket: Allows the TOMAR LOPRO-R Emitter to be mounted on either the driver or passenger side of the bar. Compatible with:
    • Federal Signal Valor
    • Federal Signal Vision***

Why Strobe and not IR LED?

A TOMAR strobe emitter puts out over 100 times more peak Infrared power in its flash than a LED emitter does. The TOMAR strobe uses some of this peak power advantage to project a substantially wider beam, making it easier for an intersection or Strobeswitch gate access-point to detect an approaching emergency vehicle at higher off-axis angles. This also allows TOMAR emitters to have a standard performance rating of over 2,500 feet, and in many cases, a line-of-sight range of a mile. All of this equates to vehicle preemption taking place sooner, and reducing risk.
